A new day, revived energies – what is leadership?

I had a strange night last night. I could not quite finish digesting my food which sat in my stomach for about four hours. Went to bed at 10:00pm  and slept until about 2:30 am. Then got up and sat in the living room where I flicked over various TV programs and finally went to sleep. I woke up about 8:30 am  I realized that the pains that had been assailing me had gone. Bumper Post – Chew Stoke Open Gardens 24.6.23

Hold on to your hats folks. We decided to have an afternoon out, a bit like a miniature holiday. We noticed an ad. in the Mendip Times for Open Gardens. The old part of Chew Stoke in Somerset contains narrow streets, typically old cottages with building additions in the last century. I love going to this place. It is traditional and civilized. We greet everyone who comes in except the snooty locals who have that 'I am OK don't approach me'. Most people are not like this but a few do not want to...

Visit to hospital for my regular eye injection

Françoise and myself decided to visit Bath whilst I had my injection.  Just to refresh your minds I have a six-weekly injection of Eyelea as the drug is called. It is for Wet Macular in the left eye. Wet is better than dry as dry cannot be treated.  Each injection costs the NHS about £800 per shot plus the cost of the staff time etc. Say £1000. I would be surprised if  more than 1 cc was given. ...

Timsbury Seed Exchange

This morning was committee time. By that I mean that our Allotment Association of which I was chair met to discuss the condition of each plot and whether 'notice of dirty plot' letters needed to be sent. At 10 am the four of us gathered and walked up and down the 64 plots discussing each one and deciding on the need to reprimand or more like it advise the tenant that something needed to be done....
