I’m taking the weekend off so no particular thoughts on diary topics. We went around the Somerset levels today and saw considerable amounts of work that had been done to improve the accessibility of the more ancient areas by putting down what must be tons of wood chip and clearing the ditches.

Year after year I seem to miss events and that’s either because we were not prompt enough to respond to events that needed booking or we were simply not aware of what was going on because we did not travel around enough to pick up brochures better only available locally. So to avoid the same thing happening to other people here is a list of just some of the things going on in the Somerset area.

Wylye Valley Free Art Trail. Sat 3 – Sun 11 May  Mostly east of Somerset and Wiltshire. Huge choice. 82 venues, 250 artists, galleries, workshops
Cheddar Arts Fringe Festival 3rd to 5th May  13 Venues and about 30 artists
North Somerset Arts Week 3rd – 11th May featuring 200 local artists
Wedmore Festival 10-18 May many good quality speakers on a variety of cultural topics music, comedy, insights.
