A day of doing nothing

Reading Time: 4 minutes

No doubt about it, I’ve got an overdeveloped sense of social responsibility. At the same time however I do enjoy things like writing yesterday’s diary where I reproduced a sermon.

Thank you otter.ai for transcribing it but I can tell you that 2000 words takes some time because Otter does not paginate, does not know when sentences begin,  and can make some mistakes so you have to go through listening to the original at least once. Yesterday’s diary was a good demonstration of this, there may be one or two words that are wrong but the sense is conveyed in the 99.9% that I got right. Thank you technology.

So today is an absolutely lovely day with the slightly cold north-easterly wind moderating. I rose at 5:30 a.m and decided to make a loaf of bread which was ready to eat at 8:30 a.m when my other half ascended from her bed.

Give thanks for the day

I admit I’m extremely lucky. I don’t have financial problems, I have a good set of friends, but not as many as I would like living in proximity Apart from being stiff in the morning when I get up I am physically okay and I enjoy a good relationship with my other half.  My wet macular eye condition is being well treated at the RUH in Bath.I have no dependents that need home care. I have no debt.

The effects of trumps tariff changes have certainly hit the stock market as people cut their losses and show other uncertainty but they will recover and who knows, the decisions that Trump is making may benefit in the long term. There’s absolutely nothing I can do about it.

The UK Marxist government will continue to arrest and imprison the public for saying something and meanwhile the child  abuses get away with things scott free. I understand there is a 40-year list of unprosecuted people. Again, there is nothing I can do about it.

My car is about to receive the huge rise in car tax. There is nothing I can do about it.

I’ve decided therefore to devote the day to play and listen to Good Music mainly Radio 3.  I don’t know how long the Wigmore Hall lunch time concerts have been running as they do on Mondays but they are unfailingly joyous and positive occasions.
If I could choose a place to die it would be after a particularly fine string quartet Beethoven and Schubert performance at this wonderful institution

I clean the house including the deepest recesses of the vacuum cleaner which accumulates grease and dirt like you wouldn’t believe.

I’m reminded of the text ” this is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it’. Yes sir, I will do that.

I read an article today about the relationship between Mary Magdalene and Jesus and it was certainly a close one and I sent it off to David Curtis who ran the group that I wrote about at the end of January. I always pass on stuff to people I think will benefit even if they know it already. At least it shows that the audience or cohort is interested and supportive.
