A day of remarkable images

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Watching the ‘news’ early this morning over my morning cup of coffee I see that we are due for a windy weekend. The image below reminds me of the saying ‘ red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning’.

Our Saturday Christmas market which takes place in Midsomer Norton has been cancelled due to wind threats and I see that from this Friday evening winds will start to get up and reach 35 miles an hour which is nothing compared with the threat of 80 miles an hour in Scotland but nevertheless it has the power to displace objects that you would normally consider to be static. I think of my previously referred to flying poly tunnel which visited the next garden.

the building at the bottom is a simple roof, not an ark !

Regarding this sign I can scarcely believe my eyes because it looks professionally done and someone with a serious complaint has enshrined it. I see it was spotted early this morning which is Thursday and I wonder how long it will be before it is removed. My goodness, the reference to it has already been removed from NextDoor when I searched for it 09:12.

I am a member of nextdoor.co.uk which is a local group where people communicate their needs and feelings so I thought that in the new year I would consider starting a writers group to encourage people to write in general but also specifically to keep a diary.

As frequently mentioned I find writing a great benefit since starting in I have not had episodes of depressions such as I used to get from time to time, though I still get depressed about the state of the world I must admit.

I have not had much experience of promoting myself on social media but I feel I want to up my game and so have written a message about this to the local Facebook group and we will see what happens.

We had cause to pass through the tiny little village of a close knit community called Wellow and because we could find nowhere to have a coffee we went into the local shop that I believe is staffed by volunteers.  Nearby, some men were working on the wall and what a fine job they’d made on the stone work. In the local Sulis hospital they were charging £3.50 for a latte. We had a coffee, a tea and two large croissants for £4.20
