The Joy of meeting a kindred spirit

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Today our bodies has returned from our holiday but our spirit is still lingering in the coach halfway between Birmingham and Bath. I feel sorry for people who have to jump into work with day after they arrive back from a holiday because it is such an environmental and spiritual shock.

Today we did virtually nothing. It was raining so I decided to light our log fire to raise our spirits, not that they were low it’s just that we feel a bit flat.  There was a lot to reflect on particularly Birmingham as you will see from Wednesday’s diary but also  the very decent older people who were there at the hotel and shared their lives with us.

I subscribe to many publications one of which is The Conservative Woman which publishes daily from the heart articles which invites you to examine your position with regard to what is really going on in the world. This article hits the nail on the head so I’m about to tease you with a few paragraphs and then get you to click on the full piece.

YOU NEVER know when you might come across ‘one of us’ and when you do, it is such a pleasant surprise.

Just recently, while promoting my new book in my home town of St Neots, I met the son of an old friend. As we got talking and comparing notes, we realised that we thought alike on all the important issues of the day, such as the danger from mRNA vaccines, the folly of lockdown, the scam of climate change and the ray of hope we have been given with Trump’s election victory.

‘I’m a massive Trump and Kennedy supporter,’ he told me, and when I asked him why he thought that so few people, including members of his own family, had made the effort to do any research into what is going on, he replied: ‘I have accepted that most people don’t care. They either see the light or I annoy them with the truth.’ He added: ‘My tinfoil hat is firmly on and will stay on. I would rather believe that aliens have landed and that the earth is flat than take notice of anything the government tells us.’

The rest of his family, he said, call him ‘far right’ and either laugh at him or do all they can to shut him up when he gets on his soapbox, as they see it. But he put his finger on it when he said he annoyed people with the truth. The unawakened get cross when we try to wake them up as they don’t want to be jolted out of their cosy little lives. They would rather queue for the jab, believe that the covid vaccine has saved millions of lives and that the government cares about our wellbeing than face the uncomfortable possibility that we have been fed lie after lie, certainly for the past four or so years and maybe long before.
