To call Birmingham a multicultural city is somewhat of an understatement. On Wednesday 27th November we were transported by tour coach and left at a meeting point near the Bullring to be picked up four hours later. This is the season of Christmas markets but I found the large commercial stands selling mostly German drinks and food too boring to photograph and instead it is pleasant to just walk around on this beautiful sunny cloudless day and photograph whatever comes along.
Below are examples from the recently partly re-opened Museum and Art Gallery.

Please search this diary for other references to Birmingham and it will probably answer your question if it is worth visiting. I would pick your weather and don’t go on a rainy day. Most of the main entertainments and features are within walking distance so you don’t need to worry about buses.
New Street Station really is the center of everything along with course with the enormous Bull Ring Shopping Centre. From what I could see the nationalities get on pretty well with each other and have integrated well. What I have not seen is the somewhat less social behavior in some of the suburbs but that is not the topic of this diary entry.
