A two in one Sunday

Two contrasting elements to my day. To a farm run by two of the leaders of what used to be called the Vineyard for a combined meeting which included the usual repetitive singing and praising but also a testimony of what had been achieved over the past 12 years. The list was long and impressive. I had a chance to talk to one or two individuals about their work and life. I found that to break through the meniscus of pleasantaries is not always easy and is only possible if both parties wish to share.

I introduced myself to one person by remarking that a young boy about eight had spent the best part of two hours staring at his phone with headphones on and was not taking any part in the proceedings and I wanted why he was there. My friend said that during covid people relied very much more on zoom and tended to go on online games as well as having school lessons via the internet. He was sort of defending the young boy and his habits

My friend said ‘look, there are other young people who are indeed socialising and this may have been a benefit of the covid era’.  I wonder what the mother of the young boy was doing and whether the only way he could be kept quiet was to be on his mobile, If so what sort of socialization training is that especially as an evangelical event? After the service we were offered very good quality hamburgers and sausages produced locally no doubt.

As for the service I get absolutely no buzz or effect from people waving their arms about as I have said before, but I did get a considerable amount of nutrition from talking to individuals and this is how I will see any future liaisons with this or similar groups.

I then returned home and picked up Francoise. We then went with a local gardening group to a very posh and historic 17th century house in Farringdon Gurney and were shown around by the arboretist and garden planner who had been engaged by the owner. We had over an hour of long and technical discussions on merging aspects of the landscape to make the garden fit the house and the view.

There was a structure made of oak which I hotel in Southampton had offered 10,000 pounds for but they decided to keep it.

A secret area amongst the trees which seems to have been a play area for children with faeries, make believe etc.

the wood looked very much like a dog from a distance

A tree around 350 years old.

The tree has fallen and re-rooted itself

We finished off with cream tea, comprising very good cream, homemade jam and beautiful scones.

To home and a nail biting football match in the World Cup between England and Slovakia which we won in the last moments 2-1. Turning over to Glastonbury, Shania Twain with more standard songs. Gosh this modern music is so clinical and soulless and yet people lap it up. I have to remember that the festival is not designed primarily for people of my age group okay I get it

Fly on the wall – Notices in our local St Chad’s surgery

I had I had cause to visit my local GP and whilst waiting for him I decided to have a look around the waiting area to see who was saying what, which potential problems were being identified and how they were trying to involve the audience, the cohort in a call to action.

My comment – it’s difficult to read the type white on colour especially ‘where it’s okay not to be okay’ I’m not sure this was written by someone who is in the potential client group, or whether someone else has written it thinking that it is a cool thing to say. Also, Unit 14, is not a very welcoming or attractive address. It is not clear whether it is a religious based organization or not. Those who are not of religious persuasion might be a bit suspicious of the whole thing. Finally, I don’t like the hands it could be too corpses for all I know, and what about a telephone number for enquirers.   I’m afraid this one doesn’t score very well

I’m not quite clear why this young lady has brown hair on one side and blond on the other I suppose it could be a symbolism for our divided society. What about people of other hues?    I do not know why there are a preponderance of colored people in adverts. This may be part of a national campaign but the three black people are relating well with each other,

The typeface is so wrong here. It’s disjointed and, well, just plain wrong. There is no flow within the text. It does not identify the sort of people who are welcome but this may be intentional. Also, I think you should steer away from lunchtime periods. I would rather have had 2 p.m to 3 p.m. for example. There is no contact number,

This is an ambitious educational poster which makes a good point but I think there is a bit too much information for the casual glance. I would tend to say why sugar is wrong from the health point of view

Again, a coloured actress or participant. Is this implying that only people of colour have cancer problems? I get the impression that advertising agencies have been lent on and told that unless you feature colored models you are being racist

Very good and in your face treatment of an important topic.

What happens when you file a suit for sexual molestation (USA)

This is mainly for my readers from the USA but also a warning for ladies everywhere

I thought this would be interesting to everyone, especially females, since all females are by their nature vulnerable to  predatory actions from the male section of society. It is very sad that the following interview  by Dr Naomi Wolf has to be made. I think there are lots of lessons from this medium length video which I recommend you watch from beginning to end. I give Dr Naomi 100% for honesty and transparency thank you for sharing this with the world.

The value of listening

Not much to say today. We are preparing the house for a visit by my son and his wife. I found a lovely story which I enclose. I got it off Facebook but it is a little bit difficult to read so I am reproducing it.

“We Indians know about silence. We are not afraid of it. In fact, for us, silence is more powerful than words. Our elders were trained in the ways of silence, and they handed over this knowledge to us. Observe, listen, and then act, they would tell us. That was the manner of living.

With you, it is just the opposite. You learn by talking. You reward the children that talk the most at school. In your parties, you all try to talk at the same time. In your work, you are always having meetings in which everybody interrupts everybody and all talk five, ten or a hundred times. And you call that ‘solving a problem’. When you are in a room and there is silence, you get nervous. You must fill the space with sounds.

So you talk compulsorily, even before you know what you are going to say.White people love to discuss. They don’t even allow the other person to finish a sentence. They always interrupt. For us Indians, this looks like bad manners or even stupidity. If you start talking, I’m not going to interrupt you. I will listen. Maybe I’ll stop listening if I don’t like what you are saying, but I won’t interrupt you.

When you finish speaking, I’ll make up my mind about what you said, but I will not tell you I don’t agree unless it is important. Otherwise, I’ll just keep quiet and I’ll go away. You have told me all I need to know. There is no more to be said. But this is not enough for the majority of white people.

People should regard their words as seeds. They should sow them, and then allow them to grow in silence. Our elders taught us that the earth is always talking to us, but we should keep silent in order to hear her.

There are many voices besides ours. Many voices…”

Midsummer solstice at Glastonbury

A very pleasant trip by bus for a jolly mid Summer Solstice celebration tainted by one thing. Due to pressure from Woke people they had removed a copy of a statue created by an artist who had some questionable sexual activity and the pathetic trustees felt that if it might cause offense it should be removed from its place around the well itself to another place as yet undetermined.

We had never seen so many people gather and this was probably due to the comparatively clear skies and warmish weather. We are grateful for 20 degrees centigrade. This shows how poor the weather has been this year.

Some of today’s pictures in town. A very generous other to do a crystal healing course entitled ‘healing the healer’

This is Merlin that gives blessings to people and advice and he stands outside the town hall most days. He gives hugs to anyone who wants them and is much photographed by tourists

A lovely little Garden bordering a passageway in one of the side streets leading to the town hall rooms

The house is not actually number 777 but the owner likes the name. It should actually be number 23 but the postman properly knows the right number that’s all that matters

People sitting on a meadow after the Solstice celebration at midday

Ladies dressed in their finery. Most people are from other countries and I heard German, Italian, French, Yiddish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and New Zealand

The ladies make a special attempt to dress for the occasion and this one was arrayed as a sun flower with dress to match

you find this at the top of the High Street. It was just a coincidence that there was a chemtrail attached so to speak

This is a Live conference in Australia run by someone who asked people to share their secrets on a postcard, someone they had never told anyone before, and the former seems to work very well. The organization is called post secret.
