An amazing knife sharpener, a bad stomach, a brilliant podcast

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Following on yesterday’s chance meeting we met with the knife sharpener outside a local facility, Midsomer Quilting. He charges five pounds a pop. He is very good at what he does, he’s even a trainer for other aspiring sharpeners and drives around the south west of England and parks in various per-arranged places. When I got home I tried out the garden shears that he had sharpened and I found that they were actually slightly better than when they were new.  If anyone in the Somerset area needs his services, check out his web site sharpening-service.co.uk. His phone number is on the side of his van (pictured)

Today was a bad day for my digestion. I had bacon and eggs this morning with coffee and bread. I then went to see the sharpener mentioned yesterday in my diary at the associated facility, had a coffee and, mistake of mistakes, one chocolate biscuit. That set my whole system off. I then went to a restaurant for Françoise to have a cup of tea and I had a granola with yogurt and for some reason that set me off even more. I hate to have this mindset but I have to assume that all manufactured food is dangerous or potentially dangerous. I’m coming to rely more and more on home cooking now which I fear is the only way forward.

My stomach has been better in recent days so I think it’s got used to it and goes on strike even more if I do what I consider is abuse which I obviously though not intentionally did today. More self-discipline, Brian.

Woman In Coma Has Near-Death Spiritual Awakening & Realizes WHY WE ARE HERE’ | Anita Moorjani with the interviewer Andre Duqum.  Not everyone gets to experience death before they die.  I’m asking my readers to spend 1:40:47 watching this fascinating interview which talks about people’s attitude to cancer, the importance of the environment of belief when dealing with symptoms, the power of mind over matter, our intrinsic nature and our God given power which is far greater than we imagine, the need to cast off things that we do not wish to do. I started to watch this podcast this evening but quickly realized that this was too important just for me to watch so I persuaded Françoise to watch as well and we were both mesmerized by the quality of the conversation. I ordered her latest book ‘Sensitive is the New Strong’. and it will arrive tomorrow morning Sunday.

So a good day overall in spite of the cold,  the rain, and my horrible stomach. Come on, clerk of the weather, we’re nearly into May and is this the best you can do?
