No man can serve two masters – in plain sight

Reading Time: 6 minutes

Believe it or not, I took a hot water bottle to bed with me last night and it seems to have the effect of discouraging me from getting up during the night. Maybe some sort of comforter.  Nevertheless I awoke at 6:00 a.m. This morning which is a sign for the having of coffee and toast and switching on the news.  True to form, it has started to rain.

One of the most ridiculous claims – which brainless person would blame going to see movies for a rise in covid?

TalkTV –  the irrepressible and immaculately dressed Andrew Eborn,  who is a barrister and futurist –  is holding fourth full of the joys of spring.   Does this man ever sleep? I saw yesterday that ULEZ  is being attacked in London being the subject of street marches, and has been quietly withdrawn in Manchester. It is good news that people are recognizing that this is a prelude to getting rid of the car, and the 15-Minute City will  eventually restrict our movements.   I nearly rang up the programme and spoke to them about the trends.

The point is that we in the UK along with pretty much every other country in the world has signed up to a fundamental change in the way the world is run from one populated by human beings to one controlled by artificial intelligence  where human beings are mere obedient robots. Do you remember the meme – ‘you will own nothing and be happy’.

The government of this country and indeed others have to pretend that they are holding our needs and wishes in their mind  but are in fact following a completely different globalist agenda which excludes the wishes of the average human being.   Those of you that read the Bible will recall the phrase “no man can serve two masters. He either loves one or hates the other, or holds to one and despises the other”.   I have quoted this before and I will probably quote it again but it is supremely apposite.

Conflict of interest can turn and intelligent person into an idiot in five seconds flat. The problem is that those who utter the falsehoods do not perceive that they have been seen for who they are as there may be a time delay.  I also saw on the news that the National Health Service, or what remains of it, will pay for gender reassignment for children over the age of seven.  I thought that this type of thing could only happen to those over the age of 18 years.  What is the matter with the parents? Presumably their permission would have to be given.  Is there any limit to this brain washing?

Paying in a cheque by photographing it

For the first time  I decided to pay in a cheque, the cheque I received from yesterday’s gardening, by using my Android app.   This technology is ‘work in progress’.  I wish the people who gave the instructions could give it to someone with very little knowledge of the system because  inevitably one or two stages are missed out.

You go into the app,  click on deposit a cheque, and follow the prompts.  You are supposed to photograph both sides of the cheque.   I photographed the front without much of a problem.  You have to keep within the green lines and hold the camera still and will take an image when it is satisfied with the result.  It identified the amount correctly but could not read the date.  This was an editable field so I confirmed the date.

You then have to photograph the back of the check for some reason.  The instructions were incomplete on this point.   What is the point of photographing a blank page.  Is it to show there is nothing?   Under what circumstances do you write anything meaningful on the reverse?   Anyway, I did that and pressed ‘conform’.

It said that something was wrong but did not tell me what. I tried again and again got an error message.  I tried a third time to be told that I had already paid the cheque in.   As it did not appear as ‘pending’ on my account so the only thing I can do is to wait and see what happens.  I agree it is not an advantage to do this type of thing over a weekend so I guess that I will see something on Monday or Tuesday. I will keep you posted on this one. PS – It came into my account on the Monday.

Alarmist weather forecasts

Anything to keep us afraid!  My goodness they are giving storms or likely storms a name. The first one in the UK is ‘Antoni’ (strange non-British name). The exagerati0n of weather is becoming a laughing stock, particularly from the BBC fear stable.  I love this Youtube video ‘They’ve made weather a weapon”  Another from the Richard Vobes stable.  46:32

Talking of weather…..

You cannot see the actual raindrops but I promise you it is raining cats and dogs. This is a peculiar English expression, origins unknown. Added to the mix is thunder. A perfect Sunday afternoon we might say!

The first recorded use of a phrase similar to “raining cats and dogs” was in the 1651 collection of poems Olor Iscanus. British poet Henry Vaughan referred to a roof that was secure against “dogs and cats rained in shower.” One year later, Richard Brome, an English playwright, wrote in his comedy City Witt, “It shall rain dogs and polecats.” (Polecats are related to the weasel and were common in Great Britain through the end of the nineteenth century.)

Origin?  Odin, the Norse god of storms, was often pictured with dogs and wolves, which were symbols of wind. Witches, who supposedly rode their brooms during storms, were often pictured with black cats, which became signs of heavy rain for sailors. Therefore, “raining cats and dogs” may refer to a storm with wind (dogs) and heavy rain (cats).
